BLAST® is a parent engagement program that systematically develops parents’ ability
to communicate with their children, to be the leader in their family and to find and use resources
in their community and schools to continue to strengthen and support their family. This program
has served over 700 families in Jacksonville, who have seen statistically significant improvement
in classroom behaviors, home behaviors, self-esteem, family closeness and parent involvement,
resulting in lower juvenile delinquency and substance abuse.
Our program receives guidance and input from the BLAST® Advisory Group,
a group of community and school leaders who provide advice and guidance to
Family Foundations Building Lives and Schools Together program.
