Our ultimate goal is when families support their community by becoming
involved.
One way of becoming involved is through Community Action Groups. Community Action Groups
are a group of citizens who have come together to work on a common issue.
We currently have many exciting Community Action Groups in operation:
Nanas and Papas Raising Grands, a group of grandparents who support each
other and find community resources to assist in their work of raising their grandchildren.
Young Ladies with Direction, a group of young women at Forrest High School
who focus on their school success while mentoring other young women to do the same.
Young Men with Direction, a group of young men at Forrest High School who
focus on their school success while mentoring other young men to do the same.
BLAST Advisory Group, a group of community and school leaders who provide
advice and guidance to Family Foundations Building Lives and Schools Together program.
Pull Up Your Pants, a group of community volunteers who are dedicated to
encouraging young men to dress with respect.
Westside Coalition, a group of blast-off graduate parents who are taking
back their neighborhoods and communities by linking with law enforcement and neighborhood crime
watch organizations on the Westside. Click
